Mr.Cole says, "That's fine, Frank. Narrowing down a topic usually is a good thing."
ShannonMc says, "I don't know where I am going with my topic"
FrankBl says, "I am writting on how computers should play a role in education, how education should tell us about computers and the effects that computers have"
Mr.Cole says, "The student audiencehas proven pretty popular. That's logical. You are all students, you are familiar with students' needs and interests. it is easier to speak to the audience when you know these things."
WendyFr says, "Mr.C, I need to leave a few early today. Have an appt. Is that OK?"
ScottFr say, "would you rather us go for some other audience"
Mr.Cole says, "That's sounds good, Frank. Let's use that as an example. Why would students have an interest in this topic?"

ScottFr say, "b/c almost everyone is capable of using one and pretty much everyone is affected by them in one way or another"
ScottFr say, "whoops"

AnandVy says, "Because it would be limiting yourself. "
AnandVy says, "If other people are using computers, it would put one at a disadvantage not to use one. It is a tool that most people in education use."
ScottFr say, "the future is almost entirely based on computers with just about everything you are going to do so you should learn now"
Mr.Cole says, "Good one, Anand. Students generally like the idea of freedom and open opportunities, right?"
AnandVy says, "Yes."

Mr.Cole says, "OK, Scott. Again, students have a future to prepare for (as opposed to, say, a group of 80-yr-olds)."
